Laundry Day

2018 Portion of The Awareness Project in collaboration with Ioi Choi

IMG_0058.jpg
Laundry day is a sculptural piece created in collaboration with artist Ioi Choi dedicated to the Boudin Rouge exhibition. Bedsheets were torn into strips then stitched back together with red thread, then lipstick was used to portray marks. A cast of the artist Ioi Choi was used as the figure within the harness then covered with a shirt to create a human silhouette. The imagery represents a hung figure, tattered and torn, mostly to represent the consequences of the suffering gone through by the Comfort Women.
